A HEAVY metal tribute band will be turning their amps up to 11 in Chester the day before starring on Channel 4’s Crystal Maze.

Black Ice, a leading AC/DC tribute act, are due to appear on the Crystal Maze on Channel 4 on Sunday at 7pm – but rock fans can see them live this Saturday at top music venue The Saddle Inn in Grosvenor Street.

Black Ice are from the north east of England and are thrilled be appearing on Channel 4’s The Crystal Maze.

After beating off more than 4,000 applications the band not only appears on the show but actually got to re-recorded the Crystal Maze theme tune for the episode.

“We are absolutely buzzing” said bassist Ash Robertson. “I used to watch this show as a kid and even make our own versions to play at home”.

“We even had an old PC game of the original series at school so I am thrilled it has come back and so happy to be an actual part of the show!”

“It’s like a dream come true!”

Black Ice will be making their Saddle Inn debut on Saturday from 9pm until late – the bar will be open until 2.30am.

Showcasing their new stage set, the band will be playing songs from both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson era of AC/DC as well as some new tracks from the group’s latest album Rock or Bust.

Since 2008 Black Ice, formed mainly of members from the same family, have evolved to become one of the UK’s premier tribute acts playing shows all over the country.
