Chester produced a valiant performance in defeat at Boreham Wood, going down 4-2 against the promotion-chasing hosts.

ANDY FIRTH: Made some excellent saves and continues to impress. 7
SHAUN HOBSON: Shifted to right-back and performed admirably. 6
JAMES JONES: Back in the side after an ankle injury but had a tough afternoon. 5
RYAN ASTLES: Not at his best and Ferrier showed him a clean pair of heels on a few occasions. 5
MYLES ANDERSON: Coped well at times but Smith got the better of him down the right wing. 5
TOM CRAWFORD: Nice assist for Akintunde’s first goal and produced another promising display. 7
GARY ROBERTS: Playing through the pain barrier and got stuck in with some crunching tackles. 6
DOM VOSE: Largely anonymous for long periods and ineffective display. 4
CRAIG MAHON: Had a superb first-half and looked back to his best. Faded second-half. 7
JAMES AKINTUNDE: His best display in a long while, full of energy and capped it with two goals. 8
HARRY WHITE: Quiet for long spells and didn’t get much change out of Stephens. 5
