LATE night cocktail bar Red Door launched its first ‘Cocktail & Screens’ night with a screening of the classic Saturday Night Fever

The film, starring John Travolta, was screened at Storyhouse in Chester to celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary.

The film was followed by cocktails to the famous disco soundtrack of the film back, with tracks from the Bee Gees, at Red Door in St John Street.

Film fanatics turned out in force to the Storyhouse screening, where they were treated to a complimentary Red Door cocktail, a screening of the cult-classic and then enticed back to Red Door’s own site for drinks and dancing into the night. The event was deemed such a success that Red Door have decided to hold the event every other month, with a wide variety of film screenings, followed by a themed after party back at the bar.

Managing director of Red Door, Lee Lynch said: “We’ve been totally blown away by the response to the cinema nights, with a real variety of guests; from couples who simply love the film to gangs of friends, groups of mums and a few who were experiencing the film for the very first time.

"Everyone was loving the whole evening and boogying away into the night, which is exactly what we had hoped for. Tickets sold out pretty fast, so we would advise anyone who missed out on this to keep an eye out on social media for the next one!”

The next ‘Cocktails & Screens’ night at Storyhouse and Red Door will be announced soon. Doors will open at 7:30pm and tickets for the evening cost £15, which includes; a glass of fizz on arrival at Storyhouse, a showing of the movie, popcorn and a cocktail at Red Door after the film.
