DATES have been set for one of the highlights in the North Wales gastronomic calendar.

Mold Food and Drink Festival will return for the 13th year, bringing with it the very best exhibitors, cookery theatres, produce, and leading names in the culinary world.

Attracting more than 13,000 visitors a year, the festival will be held on Mold’s New Street car park on September 15 and 16.

Festival chairman John Les Tomos said: “Mold Food and Drink Festival is the perfect recipe of exhibitors, activities, music, and cookery demonstrations – something for everyone with a dusting of a little Mold magic.

“This is our 13th year and once again we’ll be delivering a stellar line-up of chefs and experts. We’ll have outstanding produce, some new faces, and a welcome return for some of our favourites including the ever-popular children’s cookery school.

“Over the next few months we’ll be unveiling more of the 2018 line-up, announcing our chefs and revealing just what is on the festival menu for what is now a highlight in the North Wales event calendar.

“Exhibitors are currently being booked so if there are any who would like to be a part of the event then we’re happy for them to get in touch."

The festival draws visitors from across the country with a packed programme of activities including masterclasses with well-known chefs. Previous chefs have included Jean-Christophe Novelli and Nick Nairn.

Dave Hill, Mold town manager, told the Leader: "The Food and Drink Festival is one of the great success stories the town has to offer.

"It is widely appreciated by residents and visitors and it probably brings more people to Mold over that weekend than anything else - it is brilliant fun."
