All Flintshire schools are back up and running as normal today.

Flintshire Council say no schools or colleges will be closed - but live updates can still be found on their website if conditions worsen.

Yesterday saw the halt of classes in 40 schools across Flintshire - and three in Wrexham - due to the snow that fell in the early hours of Monday morning.

But the council has warned against "bitterly cold" weather over the next few days, and strengthening winds and some snow showers are said to be expected.

Residents braved the chill on their morning commute today as temperatures reached -6c in most areas.

The council has allocated teams of snow clearing and gritting vehicles across the county, and said they are responding to requests after treating priority routes.

With household recycling centres open today, the council is monitoring their waste collection services but have confirmed all major waste collection routes will resume as normal this week.

The small rural scatter round could still miss out so residents are encouraged to keep an eye on their waste.
