More than 100 people attended a community event in Vicars Cross.
The pop-up picnic at Thackeray Drive playground saw residents bring a blanket, a game and cake to share.
The event, organised by the Friends of Thackeray Drive playground, saw children decorate a ‘We love playing in VX’ banner.
Parents helped demonstrate the community support needed for the application for funding to update the playground's equipment.
Proposed designs for the new park were on show for everyone to look at and make comments or suggestions.
Great Boughton Parish Council has already pledged funds, as have other organisations towards the improvements if the funding bids are successful.
Parish councillor Jo Evans said: “The
pop-up picnic was a huge success. It was wonderful to see the community come together to show they really care about the proposed changes to the Thackeray Drive park.”
