JON McCARTHY held his hand up and admitted he made mistakes after yesterday's 3-1 defeat at Woking.

The Chester boss, who has now seen his team concede 13 goals in seven games, admitted he hadn't been pleased with the way his side had performed after Ryan Lloyd had levelled in the first half.

"We knew it wouldn't be easy. We had a long trip down to Woking on a warm day, but I couldn't fault my players in terms of their work-rate, but I made a few mistakes today," McCarthy said. "I put plenty of work in for every game, but I haven't got it right today in terms of the team I put out.

"I made changes with the right intentions and I spent a lot of time looking at Woking as well as spending a lot of time looking at my lads and where we are at.

"I didn't see some stuff and I made wrong decisions, and I am disappointed.”
