AN UNLIKELY link between Chester and the late Motorhead frontman Lemmy has emerged.
The music world is mourning the loss of the musician, who died aged 70 just two days after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.
Ian ‘Lemmy’ Kilmister was the frontman for Motorhead since the band was formed in 1975 and tributes have come from other rock legends such as Dave Grohl, Ozzy Osbourne and Gene Simmons.
As a result there have been numerous ancedotes and old interviews unearthed and one includes an unusual sexual encounter at Chester Station.
The claim, which was printed in Spin magazine, was made by Lemmy when he was asked to name the weirdest place he had ever had sex.
He replied: “On top of a photo booth in Chester Station in North-West England.
“It was the only place we could find to be alone.
“Nobody saw us, because people never look up.”
Motorhead played a live gig in Chester on November 11, 1979, at the former ABC Cinema in Love Street.
