FORTY new jobs will be created by the arrival of a Latin American restaurant chain in Chester.
Las Iguanas is opening a three-floor, 170-seater restaurant in June as part of the £8 million ‘Dining District’ development on Pepper Street.
The opening ‘festival’ week will feature ‘two for one’ meal offers during the week and 100 free burritos being given away at the weekend.
Designed by London-based architects Moreno:Masey the building will be in what is described as classic Latin style and incorporate a roof terrace.
Other restaurants included in the ‘Dining District’ development are Chimichanga, Coast to Coast and Restaurant Bar and Grill.
Carolina Navarrete, general manager of Las Iguanas Chester, said: “We are all very excited about welcoming the people of Chester in to try our amazing Latin American food and cocktails and showing them what Latin life is all about.
“We’re thrilled to have secured a site on Pepper Street providing us with the opportunity to be right in the heart of this historic and cultural city.
“In addition, our new venue will be providing 40 new jobs locally and we are currently recruiting for these positions.”
