Two people have been arrested after armed police swooped on an area of Ellesmere Port on Thursday evening.
Police responded to reports of an incident in the town centre and there has been a high police presence around Cambridge Road and Station Road.
Two men, aged 20 and 42, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Cheshire Police have said that enquiries are ongoing.
