A gamekeeper caught drink-driving is likely to lose his job and his home, a court heard.
A member of the public alerted the police that a man seen leaving his car in Denbigh town centre late on January 11 appeared “legless” .
David John Scott, aged 29, was found in a nearby Chinese restaurant and found to have 94 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 35.
At Llandudno magistrates’ court Scott, of Brynlluarth Mill, Prion, near Denbigh, admitted driving with excess alcohol and said he had drunk two bottles of beer during the day and some wine during the evening.
He told a probation officer that the loss of his licence would probably mean him losing his job and his tied accommodation.
Banning him from driving for 24 months, chairman David Davies said: “It is a sad case because of the consequences of your actions on you personally and because of the impact on your family.”
Scott, who said he would probably have to return to Cornwall, was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £85.
