WALES boss Chris Coleman has signed a two-year contract extension.

The 45-year-old has been rewarded a new deal having guided Wales to this summer's European Championships, which begin on June 10.

The former Fulham manager will now remain in charge of the national team through to the end of the 2018 World Cup campaign, with the finals set to be held in Russia.

"Everyone knows what managing Wales means to me," Coleman said.

"Leading my country in France this summer will be the proudest moment of my career, and I’m delighted to have an opportunity to do the same in Russia in 2018.

“We’ve learned a lot as a National Team over the past few years, we will learn a lot from the Euros this summer, we must use all these experiences to push forward.

“I am delighted that this has been agreed before the European Championships next month. We get together on Tuesday for our pre-tournament camp in Portugal."

Wales begin their Euro 2016 campaign on June 11 against Slovakia, before they face England and Russia in Group B.
