POLICE talked down a man on a city centre bridge early yesterday morning.

A police spokesman, Will Harris, said: “At 7.10am yesterday morning, officers were called to an incident on Northgate Street in Chester, where a man was behaving in an agitated state on the bridge.

“Officers spoke to the man and convinced him to come down. He subsequently attended the Countess of Chester Hospital for an assessment.”
