Chester reveller tried to drop cocaine down drain

A REVELLER slyly attempted to drop a bag of cocaine down a drain during a police search – but missed the grating.

Bungling Warren Thomas, 31, was stopped by officers in Chester on July 31 after he was spotted by CCTV operators snorting a substance in the city centre.

West Cheshire Magistrates Court heard Thomas, of Anderson Close, Pensby, Wirral, “panicked” as he knew he was in trouble.

He pleaded guilty to possessing a class A drug and to obstructing a constable in the execution of duty.

Thomas was ordered to pay a £300 fine as well as £85 in costs and a £20 surcharge.
