POLICE are hunting a man after two incidents in which a girl and a woman were approached by a motorist acting suspiciously.
The first incident was in Raby Park Road, Neston, on August 8. A man driving a red, two-door sports car stopped a girl shortly before 5.30pm and asked her if she wanted a lift, telling the girl he knew her mother. The girl declined and made her way home.
A short time later the woman was walking along Liverpool Road, Neston when what is believed to have been a red sports car again drew up along side her. The man asked her to get in the car but she refused and the man then asked for directions. He then drove off towards the town centre, police say.
On both occasions the driver was described as a black male aged about 30. Police say there had been further suspicious incidents reported later in the month involving a red Ford Ka. Police have traced and spoken with the user of the Ford Ka and are satisfied that no offences have been committed with regards to these incidents and that they are not linked to the man in the red sports car on August 8.
PC Mike Lockett said: “This type of behaviour is of concern to us and is obviously worrying to the community. We have been patrolling the area to provide reassurance and are working tirelessly to identify the car and trace the man.
“If you have any information that could help us to locate the male in the red sports car from August 8 2012, please contact us.”
