Determined competitors put their techniques to the test as they battled through the 21st annual Dog and Fox conker contest.
The Bradford on Avon pub provided the all important conkers for the competition on Sunday, which involved customers and staff.
They were pitted against each other through the quarter-finals, semi-finals and the final, where winner Trudi Atkinson beat off stiff competition from six-year-old Olivia Proudman.
Mrs Atkinson, who was presented with a box of chocolates and an engraved trophy, said: “I had a very worthy opponent.
“What she lacked in size and technique, she made up for in determination.”
The trophy now sits in the pub and landlord Clive Hilton said: “It is important to keep it going because it is good fun and gets everyone involved.”
