Trowbridge Fire Station is calling on volunteers to contribute to its fourth Christmas Day lunch.

The festivities aim to bring families, friends and people spending the day alone, together for a traditional dinner. An organising committee is being put together this year and people can help in the run up to the day, buying presents and dealing with donations, or on Christmas Day help serve, wash up and do whatever they can.

Watch manager Lucy May said: “Christmas can be a lonely time. It is nice to bring people together and remember there are people who care. It is really important this keeps going ahead. Anything people can offer would be great.”

Christmas dinner is served at noon and will be followed by carols and a raffle draw. Guests also receive a hamper. Anything that doesn’t get used on the day is donated to Trussell Trust.
