Trowbridge school marks war centenary
Clarendon Academy in Trowbridge will remember the centenary of the start of the First World War with a Remembrance Day assembly on November 11.
An hour-long assembly will take place with students and staff involved in poetry readings, history presentations, two musical performances and the laying of wreaths.
Principal Mark Stenton said: “Remembrance is an important part of every school year, but we believe that the centenary of 1914 must be uniquely recognised.”
Staff will also lay an academy wreath at the memorial service in Trowbridge Park. A recording of this event at 11am will be played back to the 12.30pm assembly.
