Policed in Warminster are warning dog owners to keep their pets under control, following two incidents last week.
The first incident took place on Tuesday last week when there was a report of dogs worrying sheep at a farm in Sutton Veny.
A man also reported being bitten on the leg by a Staffordshire bull terrier on Saturday while walking in Blenheim Close, Warminster.
Inspector Alan Webb said: “I am surprised and saddened that owners are failing to keep their dogs under proper control.
“Incidents of dog bites are investigated and where appropriate applications are made to the courts for control orders.
“In the more serious cases prosecutions take place under dangerous dogs legislation and this can lead to the dog being destroyed and owners fined.”
