HUNDREDS of people attended a Seasonal Interfaith Celebration held at the Binks Lecture Theatre at the University of Chester. The main speaker was Professor Daud Abdullah, deputy general secretary of the Muslim Council of Britain.

Chester Asian Council hosted the event. The main focus of the gathering was a celebration of all faiths and to draw attention to the diversity of culture in Chester and surrounding areas.

Other speakers included Nasreen Bawa and Abdun Noor of Chester Asian Council; the Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr James Latham; Dorothy Marriss deputy vice chancellor and dean of Health and Social Care, the University of Chester.

Chief Supt Tim Jackson, Cheshire Western Area, Cheshire Constabulary also attended.
