MORE than £1million has been spent in transforming a rural Cheshire pub into a restaurant serving Rajasthani, Punjabi and Bengali food.

Abdul Jilani, who has run The Village Indian in Tattenhall for years, has now teamed up with highly skilled chef-turned-manager Kismet Miah at the Red Fox at Tiverton, near Tarporley. Mr Jilani, of Neston, has been in the restaurant business since 1976.

Bollywood-style entertainment was provided at the opening of the restaurant which was attended by guests including the Mayor and Mayoress of Vale Royal, Cllr and Mrs Douglas Shingler.
