Great designs on show for Malpas Scarecrow Trail

Colin Channon

There were some extra special guests in Malpas last week as the village held another Scarecrow Trail.

The designs included a surfer dude, complete with Bermuda shorts, sunglasses and surfboard; a commuting scarecrow complete with a suitcase, and a moustache like that of famous fictional Belgian detective Hercule Poirot.

It also sported a very long tie in the style of US President Donald Trump, while one entry showed off its painting and decorating skills.

There was a horse and jockey jumping a fence, a cowboy and the trail was won by Prospect House Nursing Home with their two workmen having a brew on the hedge, dressed in overalls and wellington boots.
