TODAY marks one year since Storyhouse in Chester officially opened its doors.
Since then, more than a million people have visited the theatre and cinema, library, cafe and other facilities.
Having opened Storyhouse with the message #ThisHouseIsYourHouse, local people are being invited to celebrate with Storyhouse today.
There is cake, balloons and party hats in the building, as well as a day of storytelling, singing and celebration, rounded off by a performance of Made By Storyhouse’s A Little Night Music.
The day started with a performance from St Werburgh’s School Choir, followed by Baby Rhyme Time in the Storytelling Room, and then the sound of a ukulele orchestra in The Kitchen cafe.
There is more entertainment planned throughout the day, culminating with A Little Night Music on the Storyhouse stage this evening.
At the Story Station, visitors can write down their favourite memory from Storyhouse and, as a birthday gift, staff have hidden two tickets to each #MadeByStoryhouse show around the building.
