THE racing season got off to a flying start today as hundreds descended on Chester for the May Festival.
The weather just about held as people flooded in and out of the new entrance to the city’s racecourse – part of an ongoing £100 million makeover.
Chester Standard snapper Simon Warburton was there to take pictures of racegoers in their best suits, frocks and hats.
