FIREFIGHTERS were called to rescue a cow that had got stuck in a river near Chester.
The crew from Chester attended the incident at Warrington Road, Bridge Trafford, just before 7pm yesterday.
The cow had become stuck in the River Gowy, which is a tributary of the Mersey.
Firefighters, assisted by an animal technician, used a floating line and an animal strop to lift the cow from the water.
