OLYMPIC and European ice skating champion, Robin Cousins, head judge on ITV's ratings winner Dancing on Ice, visited Chester to launch the zoo's Frost Fair.

The fair was a great hit when it was held for the first time last year but this year's attraction is bigger and better, say the organisers.

Robin Cousins' internationally famous company Cousins Entertainment, who also create the Dancing on Ice competition rink, had provided an ice rink in the zoo grounds and Robin visited the 110-acre Upton zoo to lead a skating masterclass for 15 people who entered a special Frost Fair competition.

This year's Frost Fair included costume characters Waddle and Frosty, an enchanting Santa's grotto, animation shows, gifts, craft stalls, a large carousel and warming seasonal refreshments, all designed to put extra festive sparkle into the run up to Christmas and beyond.
