PROFESSOR John Ellershaw, medical director at the Marie Curie Hospice in Liverpool, and his wife, Monica, held a Blooming Great Tea Party at their home in Chester to raise money for the charity in its 60th anniversary year.
On a perfect summer's day, more than 60 guests enjoyed tea and cakes in the garden and over £550 was raised in aid of the local Marie Curie nursing service.

Meg Marshall, Cheshire Woman of the Year 2008, officially opened the tea party and presented the raffle prizes.

Everyone can join Marie Curie Cancer Care's Blooming Great Tea Party celebrations. For details call 08700 340 040 or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/teaparty for a free Blooming Great Tea Party fundraising pack.
