Chester are on the verge of announcing their new manager after the board reached an agreement on who they want to take charge of the club.

The board reached a 'positive outcome' from Monday night's board meeting, with a decision taken on which of two final candidates would be offered the chance to become Chester's fifth permanent manager since reforming and lead the Blues into National League North next season.

An announcement is expected within the next 24 hours with provisional terms having already been agreed, as to avoid any potential late issues arising, which occurred two weeks ago when former Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn was initially offered the role.

Chester City legend Graham Barrow has been linked with a return to the Deva, as have former Salford City duo Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, who were sacked by the National League North champions a week ago.
