AN ugly duckling building in the heart of Chester is to be demolished and replaced with a swish new accommodation complex. The former Quicks garage in Lower Bridge Street has long been regarded as a blot on the streetscape but within two years the whole site could be transformed into one of the most desirable residential locations in the city centre.
THE Yard won me over, not once but twice! I did my usual checking of the top restaurants on TripAdvisor that I haven’t been to before and hit upon The Yard – which came in 14th in their top 20.
THE grounds of one of Chester’s most historic buildings has been blighted by beer cans. Dozens of empty cans of lager have been dumped in the consecrated grounds of the redundant St Olave’s Anglican church in Lower Bridge Street – which dates back to the 11th century.
